Had trouble re-falling asleep in the middle of the night and kept dreaming about being Melinda in Ghost Whisperer, nothing scary though. Awoke at 6:15 to get ready for the day and work a full shift today. I’m in pretty good spirits just a little sleepy. It’s going to be a long day but nice and worth it.
I finished the book 21 days closer to Christ!! I would love to read it again but it should be something I do twice or maybe 3 times a year to remind myself.
Today I’m going to watch some TV shows and type up journals and color in my princess coloring book! =]
After today I’m meeting up with my mom, Jessica, Jerimiah, Stephanie, Rick, Cache, and Jon at McDonalds, it’s going to be way fun! Spencer will be there too for a little bit before meetings at the church.
It feels like a Friday sadly, but were at Wednesday and that’s at least half way through the week =]
I’m exciting for all the plans Spencer and I have going this year. For sure in June around our Anniversary I think we are going to go to a hotel somewhere in Utah that is close to a park with rocks to climb and beautiful things to see. That’s the plan anyways. Then hopefully sometime in August or September Stephanie, Rick, Spencer, and I want to drive to Iowa to let the husbands meet our parents side of the family. That would be super fun so I hope we can work all those plans out.
Other than that I feel I’ve been doing fairly well with my prayers at night by myself, but need to do morning prayers better and personal scripture study. While I’ve been reading the book it’s had me read a chapter or so in every day but now that I’m done I should start my own reading.
I feel more joy and I’ve been pretty patient on things in the past I haven’t been so patient with. I’m pretty proud of myself.
Other then that the goal is to clean the kitchen today, hopefully I can make time for that and vacuum because that ended up not happening yesterday BUT I made Tuna casserole for the first time and it tasted really good!
Just been coloring Princess pictures at work and listening to my music. =]
21 Days Closer to Christ
Day 21- What mean these stones?
Invitation: Remember
Scriptures: Joshua 3, 4
* Either figuratively or literally, gather twelve stones. Assign each stone to represent a blessing that you have recognized in your journey toward Christ. Share these blessings with your family. Testify how you are coming to know the Healer, the Master, the Son of God, even Jesus Christ. What are the stories you can tell about how He has strengthened, enlightened, comforted, or otherwise blessed you?
- My stones:
1. Prayer is a good communication with God to discuss your concerns and your thankfulness
2. Scriptures are a way to learn more about the Gospel and our history and future
3. Love is what I feel when I think of my Heavenly Father and Christ. It’s a great feeling
4. Patience is what I’ve slowly learned. It’s okay to wait for things for later in life
5. Grace is what we are given when we’ve done all that we can
6. Guidance to know where to go in life, Christ helps us with this
7. Hope for the wonderful things to come
8. Listen to the Holy Ghost to guide us and warn us in life. Also to listen to our spouse and children and our hearts
9. Follow the Lord’s footprints, he will direct us to where we need to go if we follow Him
10. Stand in holy places, stand up for what we believe in
11. Focus on Christ and the Gospel in our lives
12. Be still and listen. Our lives are so very crazy and its good to set a place and time to just be by yourself and ponder and be quiet
- I would like to bare my testimony to my blog readers. This experience I’ve had through out this book has been wonderful. I’ve felt peace, and love as I read the scripture references and the stories Emily shared with each lesson. It made me actually focus on the Gospel and Christ and understand that he is there for me and always will be as I go through out my life. There will be good times and there will be bad. But I know that Jesus Christ suffered for our sins and that he can help us in our time of need. That Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and Thomas Monson is our prophet today. That if we follow the commandments and stick close to the Gospel that we will grow spiritually every day. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and that families can be together forever. I say these things in the name of Jesus Chris, Amen.
The Celebration
“Hang on the walls of your mind the memory of your successes. Take counsel of your strength, not your weakness. Think of the good jobs you have done. Think of the times when you rose above your average level of performance and carried out an idea or a dream for which you had deeply longed. Hang these pictures on the walls of your mind and look at them as you travel the roadway of life.” -Attributed to Whistler By: Sterling W. Sill, “Great Experiences,” Ensign, June 1971, 43.
