Last night we made this yummy pasta. It’s just a layer of white sauce, then red sauce, then cheese, then pasta noodles, and then repeats. It turned out really good. I loved it =] Then we watched Pretty Little Liars… next week I believe we find out who “A” is! Then I wonder if there will be another season or not. Then I looked over the puzzle we are trying to finish until our Home Teachers came. They always teach really good lessons. This time it was about fasting. And I always fasted but I don’t think my heart was ever really in it. Or maybe I was fasting for things that didn’t need to be solved. Either way I’ve never had a fasting experience to share. It just made me realize I need to do better when I fast. Maybe also fast more for others than myself unless I have a very important matter I need to fast for. This coming fast I think I’ve decided to fast for my friend Becky and her family, especially her dad, because he has had cancer for awhile and I can tell it’s really straining. It’s something I can do without having to be there since she is all the way in Michigan . =]
Then I watched the Lying Game and got ready for bed. I love cuddling next to Spencer. He is just an amazing husband! The End =]
Since it is Leap Day, we decided to do something random and crazy but I’m not sure what yet. And we only have like 30 minutes together before he has meetings tonight. I was thinking how COOL would it be to have a kid born on the leap year because then they would have two birthday dates; February 29th and March 1st. =]
I slowly got myself up this morning. Once I’m up and going I’m fine but man is it hard to get out of bed. I went to go get my oil changed in the car. Luckily I got there before 8 other people so I was in and out in a reasonable time and it was a fairly good price =] And thankfully they didn’t say anything else was wrong with my car so that makes me feel good. I love my little Honda Civic, we’ve been through a lot together and I hope we have even more amazing memories before its time for you to go. There are a few more good years left in you, I can feel it. =]
Then I went home until it was time to go to work. Man is it windy out today but sometimes its fun. We are supposed to have a lot of crazy weather these next few days and I am kind of excited. It’s nice to have a storm every now and then.
Today is fairly decent at work. A lady that comes in occasionally brought me a cookie, its one of those really good soft sugar cookies with AMAZING frosting. It’s in a shape of a 3 leaf clover with white frosting and green and yellow sprinkles. Yummy!
Then I read “Standing in Holy Places” talk by: Thomas S. Monson for my institute class on Thursday. It was really good.
A few questions we had to answer:
1. What do you think President Monson means by “moral compass?” A person’s natural instinct to do what is right and avoid doing wrong. Anything which serves to guide a person’s decisions based on morals or virtues. Spencer added: Compass points North. Think of north as what is right. If the moral compass is pointing in directions other than North we are heading in the wrong direction as a society in our morals. OR its “north” is evolving (changing) rapidly, so what we think of as right is changing rapidly.
2. Why do you think it is important to know that God is “Unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity?” Its one thing we can count on and lean on in this always changing world.
3. How can you “put off the natural man?” Staying close to the Spirit/Gospel. It will help keep us on the right path. Giving up worldly things that keep us from getting closer to God.
4. Where are the “holy places” in which we can stand? Church, temple, our homes. Also how we live our lives as individuals. Standing in the presence of the Lord.
I was able to get all the meals taken care of for a lady in our ward that had twin girls a few days ago. Hopefully all goes well and everyone that was assigned remembers to bring the meal to them. That’s a weight off my shoulder now I just need to find time the catch up on laundry and clean the house up a little more. My oh my.
Just going to read my book and type up a few pages before the end of the work day. =]
Happy Leap Day
