I hurried home to be with Spencer a little bit before Channelle came over.
At 6:00pm we were off, we got Wendy’s quick for dinner and then off to the Maverik Center
We got there about 6:30pm, now I didn’t really think we’d have to pay for parking. It just didn’t really cross my mind and I only had 5 dollars with me and parking was 10 dollars. But they let me go into a hotel to get money from their ATM machine. They took FOREVER but finally I got money out and off to a parking spot =]
We hurried to our seats to get ready, it started at 7:30pm, and I got cotton candy to snack on while we waited. I didn’t want to sit by drinkers but of course that’s who we sat by. But they were nice people not rude so it turned out okay.
Then pretty much right at 7:30 Matt Nathanson who I didn’t think I knew but by the end of his performance I realized I had one of his songs and didn’t know. He was a pretty funny guy. And he would do this butt/leg dance it was hilarious! He sang the song Run which he usually does a duet with the girl on sugarland and he did it with this girl named Ashley. He described it as a “scrabble” song because there were young people in the audience but basically it was about sex (nothing dirty I promise) but it was hilarious how he described it. It was a beautiful song though. And he did a few others but his last song was come on get higher, which I totally know! He finished around 8:30 and we waited until about 9:00 for Kelly to come out. Channelle and I just talked and I had butterflies because I was SO excited to see Kelly.
Then Kelly Clarkson came out!!!! Her first song was Dark side. We were pretty close but it felt like a dream or a music video it didn’t feel real. I kept telling Channelle I need to touch her hand or something to know she is real. She has an amazing voice! It’s so pure and I am so glad she won American Idol! She is incredible. She was so funny and kind. I kept telling Channelle she would probably be an awesome person to have as a friend. So down to earth and funny and nice. She is famous but she is just like any other human being.
My goal was to know EVERY single song but sadly I didn’t BUT that was only because 4 songs she sang were cover songs so they weren’t even hears. Either way she sang them beautifully and there was 1 song of hers that I didn’t fully recognize but it’s okay! I sang every song I knew and jumped up and down, waved my arms, screamed, and laughed! It was a blast!
She also sang songs like Stronger, Mr. Know it all, Breakaway, My life would suck without you, Miss Independent, Because of you, Einstein, and more! She would run off the stage sometimes to change her top but she never missed a note and her voice never broke. I sometimes would stop singing just so I could really listen to her sing, it sounded almost exactly like a CD. At first when she talked I was like she has a more Texan voice now and she talked kind of different but then again its not like I hear her talk all the time. She is now 29 almost 30 which is crazy she looks amazing for being that old.
She sang one song and showed a video of her and her band out in Africa for this foundation of hope thing they did. They build houses for children that don’t have homes. And she was amazing with those kids and they loved her. Not many artists show that at a concert and it was great! I really hope she can find a man that treats her right, she deserves it.
Anyways when it was all over I was sad. She didn’t sign anything which I understood because it was really late. It got done around 10:30. We were going to get a CD signed from Matt but that line was hecka LONG! So we decided to get outside and get and line and it didn’t take too long to get out of there. But I didn’t want the night to end it was incredible. She is my idol and it’s not because she was on American Idol. Lol
We got home around 11:00pm and I kept telling Channelle man I wish we could of seen her up closer. I’m not obsessed but Kelly Clarkson really is a good person. You don’t see her doing lots of drinking or drugs or crazy relationships. She has one tattoo, and she fairly modest. She has maybe 2 songs that have one swear word in them. And at the concert she used 2 swear words but 1 because it was in the song, and the only was the A word because she was talking about who out there has had a mean, crappy boyfriend or whatever. I mean it was great.
I really think she could be Mormon if she chose to be or knew about the religion. I could see it.
I said good bye to Channelle and Spencer was still up so I talked to him for a little bit. Then he went to bed and I slowly got ready. I didn’t want the night to be over. I wanted to go back to the concert but I was really tired. So I went to bed around 12 but didn’t sleep well at ALL, I just kept thinking about the concert and everything and I was hot. So I stayed in bed until late this morning for sure around 7-9am I slept well.
I have a lot to do today and the next few days. Hopefully I can get it all done in a reasonable amount of time and maybe get to the Relief Society activity tonight. If not that’s okay such is life.
What an experience, I will never forget, thanks to my loving husband for buying me those two Kelly Clarkson tickets for my birthday!!! =]
On the other side we need to get off our parents insurance soon but we both only have part time jobs right now. So we need to find a fairly cheap health insurance that covers what we need. So that’s been a little hard and frustrating. Sometime Spencer might move up to full time but that’s still up in the air and with him still in school that’s going to be super hard. So I guess we will just do some research, if you have any thoughts let us know.
