Between Husband & Wife

Tuesday night-
After work I went grocery shopping for a few little things we needed. I wanted to get it done instead of pushing it off until the last day. Then I went home and watched some TV shows! After awhile I was bored so around 8pm I picked up Spencer from school. Then we headed out to Baskin Robins for some Ice Cream! We found out from Channelle that the house her Aunt has for rent; they are still waiting for the contractors to fix the bathroom. Other than that the price will be around $600 a month… thank heavens for cheaper places outside of Salt Lake City. Lol
This is super exciting, the price will be a little different but that’s still super cheap. But of course we can’t wait for them to finish so we can at least look at how “Small” it is. Then needed to see how close the train station really is; especially if Spencer will need to walk there. We estimated it will probably be about 7-8 blocks away; which I think is about the same as he walks now so that could work.
We had a little disagreement on something but what married couple doesn’t. Other than that I started reading “Between Husband & Wife”. I don’t know what it was but reading a few of the lines got me thinking about a few things and in general made me a little teary eyed. I’m going to list a few of them hear… maybe explain why I liked it and some I might not.
  1. “Is it any wonder, then,” Asked Elder Packer, “that in the church marriage is so sacred and so important? Can you understand why your marriage, which releases these powers of creation for your use, should be the most carefully planned, the most solemnly considered step in your life?” (I always knew having children was super important and such an honor. But I guess I knew you had to plan for one but also I thought you were just supposed to have kids because I knew that was a part of the plan. How it was worded just made me think that planning is even more important then I thought)
  2. “Then, in marriage, we are commissioned to exercise our sexual powers to creates physical bodies for the Father’s spirit children. Perhaps in no more meaningful way do we approach the nobility and majesty of God and His work than through this endowment of procreation. God’s work and His glory exist in the exaltation of His children, and we take part in that work as we nurture our children and raise them in righteousness.”
  3. “Parents learn how to be fathers and mothers from their children, and children are prepared for adulthood by their parents. Elder Packer said, “the ultimate purpose of all we teach is to unite parents and children in faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, that they are happy at home, sealed in an eternal marriage, linked to their generations, and assured of exaltation in the presence of our Heavenly Father.”” (We can only learn so much about becoming parents, but the ultimate way to learn how to be parents is to have/raise a child.)
  4. “No man receives the fullness of the priesthood without a woman at his side.”
  5. “The better our marriage, the better will be the quality of our intimacy. Emotional and physical contact between husband and wife enhances marital love, and the Lord has authorized these intimate expressions as one way to bring us closer to each other and to Him.”
  6. “It is interesting to know how man is put together- how incomplete he is. His whole physical and emotional and for that matter, spiritual nature, is formed in such a way that it depends upon a source of encouragement and power that is found in a women. When man has found his wife and companion, he has in a sense found the other half of himself.” (it reminds me of that song “You’re my better half” lol)
  7. “With conception and pregnancy, couples join hands with God in the amazing and incomprehensible process of giving life.” (It really is incomprehensible to even think about all of that)

I’m only at chapter 3 but a few things just got me thinking about the so called “triangle” relationship between me, Spencer, and God. I am excited to learn the things this book has to offer.

Wednesday-
I didn’t sleep very well at all. My legs hurt like when I’m on or near my period but I wasn’t so I’m not sure why they hurt. I lost my streak of good night sleep. I even had a dream kind of like a nightmare. It’s very interesting and weird and I’m not sure if you’ll understand it.
But basically we were in this home/my work; Spencer and I. And there were all sorts of animals and this WEIRD animal would get angry and shoot off pokers that shot into your skin. I guess kind of like a porcupine but a lot smaller and I think they shot out of its mouth. It was shooting at someone and I tried to grab it and put it in a cage or whatever but it ended up shooting at the back of my legs. So I had lines of pokers in my leg. It ended up stopping and I tried to pull out a few but sat by Spencer and said I’d go see Suki and she could get them out for me. Then all of a sudden a person covered it black clothing came up and jammed a gun into my arm and told us we had to get in line 10 and 6. Apparently I was 6 but I thought 10 so Spencer and I went in line to 10. And I was so glad that I was with my husband but then someone came up to me quickly and said you are actually in line 6 hurry up before he notices you were in the wrong place.
Basically I think we had certain jobs we were supposed to do but I can’t really remember much after that.
It wasn’t as scary as a lot of my dreams have been but it was still a dream including a gun.

Anyways I woke up and watched some TV shows. Then got ready for the day. I called Acacia to make sure everything was going good. Her husband is home today to help with Evia and do a few things. I’m glad she is doing well and that we have so many sisters that are able to help her with her husband is at work. I love our ward.
It’s kind of a low key day at work and a lot of people are gone for most of the day. Hopefully it will stay low key so that I don’t upset anyone who wants answers right away that I can’t give them.
Other than that it’s a nice day outside and later tonight we are meeting up with Mr. Calzada one of Spencer’s old teachers that is in town. We will go out to eat but I’m not sure where yet. Other than that I don’t have anything planned for the day.
I do need a few ideas on what to teach the nursery kids on Sunday about Father’s day.

Countdown-
